Reception venue: Berry Building

Videography: Keith Huckaby
Catering: Hello Catering
Florist: Little Shop of Flowers

I've done a lot of out-of-town weddings this month, which I love. Today, the destination was Pawnee, OK for Brooke & Chance's nuptials. Jason and I had a great time with this fun couple. He took the guys outside the front of the church for their formals, while I worked inside with the girls.
The ceremony was great and the reception was so much fun. Congratulations and thanks for choosing Storybook Wedding Photography!

Cara & Colin had a beautiful ceremony at Vesica Piscis. The chapel was so perfectly decorated... not too much, not too little and the candles along the aisle created such a beautiful linear ambiance! Their theme was "A Country Boy and a City Girl" .. how cute is that?
Cara & Colin, we wish you two a lifetime of happiness! And to Cara's parents, it was so nice to work with you!!

Guthrie - a great place for "I Do's"

by Kimberly

Wedding venue: First Presbyterian Church Guthrie, OK
Reception venue: Granny Had One
Photography: Storybook Wedding Photography
Videography: Hawkins Digital Media
Catering: Granny Had One
Cakes: Rosebeary's Designs
Entertainment: IIIrd Generation Bluegrass Band
Transportation: Love Is Carriages

DeAnna and I traveled to Guthrie, OK this afternoon for Scott & Audrey's wedding celebration. I was so excited to see Audrey in a birdcage veil (I love those!). The bride and groom chose to see each other before the ceremony which is always great and the wedding ceremony went off without a hitch. The happy couple decided to sign a family Bible instead of lighting a unity candle and they traveled to the reception in a horse drawn carriage (perfect for photo ops!!).

At the reception, the bride and groom performed a '1st song', instead of a '1st dance' because as Audrey put it "we are musicians, not dancers" (I loved that!). They are extremely talented and I'm sure they'll make beautiful music together the rest of their lives!!

Below are some of my favorite shots...

This awesome couple got married tonight in what had to be the coolest building in all of Oklahoma City. Their wedding was stunning! I'm telling you, you wouldn't have believed the amount of time, effort, talent and know-how that went into the decorative design of this wedding! And the best part is that Abby, her mother and her aunt did all the work! I really can't say enough about how amazingly talented these women are. And to Abby & Blake: congrats to you two. Its been a pleasure getting to know you over the past months! Thanks for being so great for Luke and I to work with!

Fireworks in Gore, OK

Saturday, October 3, 2009

by Blaine

Wedding and Reception venue: Bride's Parent's house
Photography: Storybook Wedding Photography
Videography: HD Videography - Beautiful Day Productions
Cakes: Ann's Bakery
Catering: Mershon's Catering and Event Design
Flowers: Mershon's Catering and Event Design
Limo: Kristal Limousine

The bride's parent's home was the wedding and reception location, near Lake Tenkiller. The weather was perfect for a wedding. When we first arrived, Kimberly and I scouted out the area and found that Deidra's parents had removed all their furniture and belongs out of the house, just to have the wedding reception in there, that spilled out to the backyard.

Mershon's Catering and Event Design, did a fabulous job transforming this house into an extravagant reception venue.
The wedding ceremony took place in the backyard. Deidra & Jimmy were really fun to work with. Deidra was cracking me up all night.
Right after cake cutting, we all ventured back outside for an awesome fireworks display. So when I say the wedding ended with a bang, I really mean it!

Beth & Ken

by Sarah

Wedding venue: South Tulsa Baptist
Reception venue: Renaissance Hotel
Photography: Storybook Wedding Photography
Videography: Ralph lasiello
Cakes: Ms. Laura's Cakes
Flowers: Floral Touch
Catering: Renaissance Hotel
DJ: Tulsa Wedding DJ
Lighting: Empire Lighting Design
Transportation: Crumpton Aviation (a Helicopter!!)

I met these lovebirds when I photographed their engagement session a few months ago. Beth claims it had something to do with my comparing Ken to a cartoon character, but to think that I made someone laugh enough, to me is highly unlikely as I have that kind of humor that leaves me as the only one laughing after I've made a joke (Yes! I'm that person).

But about the wedding.... Ken & Beth decided to see each other BEFORE the ceremony so that afterwards, they'd be able to get to the reception faster. I am definitely an advocate of this, as I believe it also helps to melt away some of the inevitable tensions that creep up during the wedding day, plus it allows for more time to get creative pictures and after the ceremony, the guests won't be waiting around for the bride & groom as long, to show up!

To Ken & Beth: you 2 were incredible! Its too bad that you'll only be getting married to each other once because you were so much fun to work with! Thanks for choosing us... it was a blast!

Blaine & I spent the afternoon with Stephanie & Jaared, photographing their picturesque wedding.
The weather cooperated (which says a lot for Oklahoma!), making their outside nuptials, so very pretty. I've decided that Harweldon is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. It has it all: history, character and a grand staircase!
Here are some of my favorites....

When Mershon does a wedding, you know it will be flawless. So Rachael & Cody's wedding tonight at the Tulsa Historical Society was just that! The rain didn't allow for an outside ceremony as planned but inside was just as spectacular. After all, the show must go on!
This was a great event and incredibly beautiful. Jason and I got some incredible shots and can't wait for Rachael & Cody to see them!!

Today, the 3 of us converged at Holy Family Cathedral and photographed the fairytale wedding and ended the evening at the reception at Post Oak Lodge. They had a DJ and a Live Band along with sparklers. Kristin and Christina with Zinke Design, helped with the flow of the day and you should have seen the spectacular wedding cake made by Wanda at Wanda's Cake Gallery.
This was a great couple with the sweetest families.
Thanks for choosing us! It was such an honor!!

Jason & I agree this is one of the best weddings we've ever photographed. The whole atmosphere could best be described as "fun". I really liked the family and guests and enjoyed working with all of them. The decorations were over the top and the bride and groom were incredibly sweet!
Golf Club of Oklahoma is such an amazing venue for weddings.. so very beautiful and the reception ran as smooth as clockwork with Greg from Infinity music, being the DJ and emcee!
So nice to have a member of the Tulsa Wedding Society at the event.

Blaine and I photographed this amazing wedding today. Jessica & Steven said their vows in a beautiful ceremony in downtown Tulsa. They were so sweet and so very happy. The reception was wonderful with exceptional attention given to every detail (not surprising as Jessica is a Manager at David's Bridal).
Jessica & Steven were very kind and remained completely calm by the potential stressors of such a big day. Steven & Jessica: you were a joy for us to work with! Our most sincere congrats!!
